AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION LAUNCHES WEBSITE

The new website for the Australian High Commission in PNG was officially launched today by the Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr Chris Moraitis.

The launch was part of Australia Week 2007 – a week of events designed to promote Australia and to highlight the strong bilateral relationship between Australia and PNG.

The new website is in line with the Australian government’s commitment to ensuring easy online access to government information.

Mr Moraitis said: “While the High Commission has had a website in the past, this website that we are launching today has a new look and feel.

“It is easier to navigate and is focused on providing comprehensive information to anyone in PNG who is interested in Australia.

“Our website provides a range of important information about Australia that is also available on the website of our other missions around the world, including general information about Australia and more specific information about travelling to Australia, doing business in Australia and studying in Australia.

“Just about anything you would want to know about Australia can be found on the website, or by following one of its useful links.

“In addition, our website includes important information about Australia’s close bilateral relationship with Papua New Guinea.

“It also includes a copy of all of the media releases and speeches issued by the High Commission, going back to July 2006. We value our strong relationship with PNG and hope this will be a useful tool for anyone interested in Australia.”

The website can be found at www.png.embassy.gov.au
