Western Province has a unique place in the PNG-Australia relationship given the proximity of our countries and our people and cultural ties.
On 6 May, High Commissioner Jon Philp and Governor Taboi Awi Yoto signed an MOU outlining Australia’s current and planned support to the Western Provincial Government including for its COVID-19 response. The MOU also reaffirmed Australia’s long-term commitment to support PNG consistent with the Comprehensive Strategic and Economic Partnership.
