The Australian High Commission (AHC) is seeking to recruit a suitable applicant with relevant experience for the above position at the High Commission:

The incumbent will be required to lead and supervise the daily operations of the Human Resources Section ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a range of HR services to customer and clients. Duties will involve overseeing payroll processing, managing and coordinating the recruitment process including work permits and work visas, drawing up employment contracts and providing advice to management of local labour laws and terms and conditions employment.

Selection Criteria

• Relevant experience in a similar HR role with the ability to provide sound advice on local labour law. An understanding of Australian government HR practice would be an advantage.
• Excellent organisational and management skills, with a strong commitment to provide quality client services in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to staff at all levels, including a demonstrated understanding of PNG culture.
• Good working experience with computer applications including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access and Lotus notes.
