The Australian High Commission (AHC) is seeking to recruit a suitable applicant with relevant experience for the position of Deputy Security Manager within the Security Section.

Under the direction of the Post Security Manager, the incumbent will provide a range of duties including, ensuring the physical security of the mission, managing security related contracts and projects, and liaising with local authorities. The successful applicant would also have very good oral and written communication skills.

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience and/or relevant qualifications to undertake a role in security management, including security systems and equipment and an understanding of risk management principles.
  2. Demonstrated organisational and management skills, including contract and project management with a strong commitment to quality client service in a small team environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision applying sound problem solving skills and judgement.
  4. Well developed oral and written communication skills, including effectiveness in day-to-day negotiation, consultation and liaison.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of Australian Government procurement processes.
  6. Valid driver’s licence for Papua New Guinea or the ability to obtain a valid PNG driver’s licence at short notice.

Note: successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen and will be required to undertake an Australian Government security clearance.
