Development Cooperation Program

The Australian High Commission (AHC), Port Moresby is seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to fill a number of positions with the Health and HIV Section.

About the Health and HIV Section
The PNG Health and HIV Program is an annual $110m portfolio targeted to improving health service delivery and six key health system functions: financing, medical supplies, infrastructure, health workforce, public health and community mobilization. It has a mix of country-wide focus, five priority provinces, and geographic targeting for the HIV epidemic.

Senior Program Manager Health and HIV
The Senior Program Manager will oversee the Non-Government Organisation (NGO) partnership and capacity building initiative. Duties include supporting the delivery of high quality Health and HIV programs in line with the PNG – Australia Partnership for Development and the oversight of strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of NGO programs to ensure quality and value for money.

Program Manager Health and HIV
The Program Manager will manage the Health and HIV Financing Program. Specific areas of responsibility include program and activity management, policy analysis and monitoring, performance and quality, people management and representation.

Assistant Program Manager Health and HIV
The Assistant Program Manager (APM) will manage support to Research through the Program for Health and HIV Research Capacity Development. The APM will also undertake the Provincial Coordination role for the section which will involve tracking all Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Health and HIV investments in the 22 provinces of PNG. The APM will additionally manage and coordinate Communications and Media to ensure effective communication of key program and policy messages to internal and public audiences.
