PROPERTY MANAGER
The Australian High Commission in Port Moresby is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced and proficient applicant for the position of Property Manager.
Duty Statement
1. Responsibility for management and maintenance of the Australian High Commission Chancery building and five (5) owned residential compounds.
2. Supervise and lead the Property Section of the Australian High Commission, made up of three large teams:
a. Warehouse and maintenance team;
b. Gardening team; and
c. Cleaning team
3. Ensure preventative maintenance and daily upkeep of the Chancery building, residential compounds and recreational facilities.
4. Ensure maintenance requests from tenants are completed within a reasonable time frame and to a high standard.
5. Effectively communicate with clients at all levels and with contacts from the private sector.
Selection criteria
Essential:
• Highly developed resource management skills, including ability to manage a property budget, supervise tradespeople and facilitate purchasing decisions.
• Experience in operating computer software including MS word, Excel, Access and Email.
• Demonstrated ability to relate to staff at all levels including supervision of staff and management of a large team.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to research and resolve problems/issues with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of Australian Government Property Management and purchasing guidelines,
• Fluency in Tok Pisin would be an advantage.
