MEDICAL CLINIC PRACTICE MANAGER

The Australian High Commission in Port Moresby is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced and proficient applicant for the position of Medical Clinic Practice Manager.

Duty Statement
Under the Doctor’s supervision, be responsible for overall coordination and day to day management of the Australian High Commission Medical Clinic.

• Manage the Clinic’s nursing staff including arranging work and associated staff administration
• Manage the daily operations of the Clinic including patient scheduling, office communications, stock levels, room preparation and medical waste disposal
• Develop strategic policies and procedures to ensure optimum performance of the Clinic
• Manage the Clinic’s accounts including reconciliation of customer invoices
• Manage maintenance of the Clinic including supervising contract personnel
• Liaise with clients and other health care providers including logging, dispatching and follow up of pathology results and arranging specialist appointments in PNG and Australia
• Manage sterilizing and infection control processes to ensure the correct protocols are followed and relevant WH&S procedures are applied
• Ensure accuracy and security of all medical records.

Selection criteria
Essential:
• Previous management experience in medical practice management highly desirable
• Initiative and ability to improve processes through change management
• Strong communication, organisational and planning skills
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Demonstrated computer skills with working knowledge of Word, Excel and MYOB
